Mason Hall

Mason is an Artist, and Community Organizer with over 20 years of experience in multiple types of creative projects ranging from film production to exhibit design and fabrication. He has co-founded 365pm and Narrative Art Center two award winning arts organizations working with adult and youth communities fostering engagement in the arts through workshops and events management.

Today, he lives in California with his wife and two grown kids and works for institutions such the Exploratorium, Chabot Space and Science Center, while continuing to make custom design objects, abstract paintings, and experimental films.

Mason’s love of astronomy and astrophotography grew from a childhood spent camping under the stars into a passion for exploring the world at night and a desire to share the knowledge he has obtained from trying to capture the night sky. Building and engaging community is at the core of all the artistic endeavors he pursues so it's been a natural progression with his astrophotography to now lead workshops and hold events around astronomy and night sky preservation.

For Mason Astrophotography is a form of exploration that blends the technical with the metaphysical but the joy comes from benefits from the persistent practice.
